Pharmaceutical Exhibition - Motion Capture System

Here at activ8-3D we not only specialise in 3D holographic projection displays, we are creative event and marketing specialists who offer solutions to any event, exhibition or project.

A perfect example is our 3 day Pharmaceutical exhibition project in Gothenburg, Sweden, in October 2010. Our client, West End Studios, came to us in July with the brief of creating an eye catching interactive display that was not only an entertaining crowd-pleaser, but informative about their Pharmaceutical client’s products.

We were also briefed with a limited footprint and a solution that must fit with pre designed exhibition stand.

Our motion capture system was pitched and received as the perfect solution. We proposed to create two characters that matched the client branding and message. One of which was a 3D iPhone character, complete with eyes, mouth, arms, legs etc. These two character where displayed on 100 inch portrait plasma screens at HD resolution.

This is where the magic happens…. The 2 characters’ full body movements and speech were being controlled in real time by back stage actors wearing our motion capture suits.  Even though the actors where 80 meters away from the exhibition stand, where the characters where being displayed, they could see and hear the audience via hidden cameras and microphones.

The audience could hear what the actors where saying via audio system. This allowed for full interaction between the audience and characters. The characters would chat to audience members, saying comments such as “Hey you, I like your blue dress… have you had a nice day?......why not take a look at our exhibition stand and learn more about our products”.

Audience members could discuss the clients products with the characters on a serious level, or casually chat to add a bit of fun to their day.

People have rarely before seen such technology in an event/exhibition market place. It was a truly entertaining, educational and informative display that captured the audience and drew people into the stand. It was deemed as the stand-out feature to the big budget exhibition.
